OCTOBER 2
6pm - 8pm Pre-Festival Vendor Mixer - at 3680 Taylor Rd.
The Wells Fargo Bank of Loomis will be hosting a vendor & volunteer’s mixer. Meet and relax with the variety of vendors.
OCTOBER 3
7am -10:30am Pancake Breakfast - at 5840 Horseshoe Bar Rd.
Loomis Fire Department will be hosting a sumptuous feast. Breakfast items include pancakes, eggs, sausage, orange juice and coffee. Donations will be greatly appreciated.
9:45 am

Opening Ceremonies - The Del Oro Golden Eagle Marching band will parade from Webb St. to the Showcase area off Horseshoe Bar Rd.

11am - 12 pm Local Restaurateurs Best of Chef Cooking Contest - at the “Best of Chef Booth.�
Local restaurant Chefs will be submitting an Eggplant dish of their choice. Winner will receive a "2009 Eggplant Festival Best of Chef" plaque of recognition for their restaurant foyer and gift basket.
11am AND 2pm Demonstrations by Jim Victorine “The Rod Doctor� at the Little House of Eggplant.
11:45am Carlene Raibley of Loomis performing a Lyrical Dance rated Ninth in the Starbound National Talent Competition.
3pm - 5pm Wild Chicken Races - The Wild Chicken Coffee House will be hosting a family-friendly, light-hearted chicken race, located on the west-side of the train depot. The race will have several  categories for kids, adults, celebrities and  “best costume� (either chicken or handler). All chicken lovers are welcome to race their own flock or come as a spectator. There will be a vet on the premises to insure the well being of our feathered friends.
3:30pm Hui o Hawaii Hula Dancers -  truly authentic story telling
4:15pm South Paw - Alternative Rock/ Modern sounds


All Day Events
Aloha Balloon CompanyAll Day come see a spectacular scene of “Under the Sea� ocean theme. Arial the Little Mermaid will be available for photo opportunities and balloons come to life under the hands of Kenn Serrano.

Free Rock Wall

Hosted by the United States Army next to the Blue Goose Fruit Shed
4H Clubs Petting Zoo Miners Ravine and Loomis Clubs will have pigmy goats, miniature donkeys, ponies, rabbits and other livestock for viewing.

Loomis Alpacas- The Perells Farm
Scavenger Hunt Little House of Eggplant aka the Chamber of Commerce booth will have a free interactive scavenger hunt.
Wine Tasting All day in the Wine Garden. Six wineries of Placer County Wine and Grape Association.

Local Restaurateurs Best of Chef Cooking Contest
All local restaurants are welcome to participate.

The following restaurant Chefs will be submitting an eggplant dish of their choice to be judged by an exclusively hand picked panel of judges. The winner will receive the “2009 Eggplant Festival Best of Chef Plaque� and gift basket. The following participating chefs are:

Showcase
  • Farmers Markets, Horton Iris Farm, Garden and Landscaping, Raffles,
  • Loomis Historical Society has a plethora of intriguing historical facts about our charming little town of Loomis aka Pino. Fresh off the press this year is their new book of historical photos “Images of America-Loomisâ€�.
  • Keep an eye out for the Full-size Stagecoach (14’L x 9’H x7’W, 3000 pounds) for photo opportunities.
Entertainment on Two stages
  • The Main stage will highlight a wide variety of talent from musicians, multi-cultural dancers, Marshall Artist, and other amateur performing troupes. The Wine garden will host a Jazz stage for the sophisticated palette. There will be picnic tables for your enjoyment and relaxation.
Kid Zone
  • The US Army is hosting a FREE Climbing Rock Wall
  • 4H Miners Ravine/Loomis clubs will be hostin a petting Zoo with Pigmy Goats, miniature donkeys, ponies, chickens, and rabbits.  The handlers will be sharing about their animals and the benefits of joining 4H.
  • Mechanical Bull Riding
  • Surf Challenge
  • “Under the Seaâ€� balloon booth (next to Main Stage).
  • Photo Booths and Bounce houses
  • Free Make & Take arts and crafts will be also offered.
  • Join the scavenger hunt hosted by the Chamber, prizes for every participant while supplies last.
  • Corn Maze next to Blue Goose Fruit Shed
Avenue of the Arts
  • Judy Payne and Mari Graham the 2009 Eggplant Logo Winners will be available for signing any Eggplant merchandise.
  • Kenn Serrano “Aloha Balloon Co.â€� will have a large & spectacular “Under the Seaâ€� theme booth with Arial the Little Mermaid.

Casque Wines 2007 Calotte Blanc awarded “Best of Class� at SF Chronicle 2009 Wine Competition-the largest wine competition in the U.S. Style: White Rhone blend displays a golden color, aromatic nose of apricot, peach and violet with hint of citrus leaf. Even red wine drinkers love this full bodied dry white wine.
Cristaldi Vineyards2006 Syrah silky and elegant, offering pleasing aromas violets and vanilla complimented with flavors of spice and dusty tannins that linger for a beautiful finish.
Duarte Family VineyardsFeaturing a 2006 Barbera full bodied dark fruit flavors of black cherries, blackberries, plums with hints of chocolate. Pares well with tomato based pasta, risottos, hard cheese and roasted meats.
Fawnridge WineryWill be featuring a Sangoivese Gold & Silver Medal in 2009.
Pescatore WineryOffers a 2007 Petite Sirah which is a Gold Medal winner of the S.F. Chronicles.
Secret Ravine VineyardsHas a 2006 Rattlesnake Red from the Doupnik Family Vineyard– A blend of 85% Sangiovese and 15% Cabernet Sauvignon with aromas of oak, tobacco, spice and tart plum.
Also featured in this section is A display of exquisite collection of artistry by three very gifted women, Brenda Dominguez known for her still life paintings, Susan Goodmundson featuring her favorite medium watercolor, and Millie Beatie is an accomplished potter and clay artist. They will also have their work in the Avenue of the Arts near the main stage.
