When a child is removed from their home due to abuse and neglect, they immediately need a safe and loving place to stay. Through a partnership with Placer County, Koinonia is providing emergency shelter foster homes to lower the traumatic impact during this time of transition. You can make a difference by becoming a professional foster parent and offer short-term emergency care to children in crisis.

Welcome to the beautiful Loomis Basin, one of the best places to live and visit in the State of California! Nestled in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada, Looms, Penryn, and Newcastle offer a lifestyle reminiscent of a friendly, old-fashioned community. While South Placer County is one of the fastest growing areas in the state, Loomis and the surrounding area has been able to maintain its rural atmosphere and keep growth to a minimum. We are located 30 minutes east of Sacramento, along the I-80 corridor. Loomis has excellent schools, a library, churches, youth activities, challenging golf courses, and many trails for biking and hiking. Our downtown area offers food venues ranging from fine dining to sandwiches, while the local businesses offer a unique shopping experience. Stop by to enjoy our original, old-fashioned soda fountain located in Main Drug on Taylor Road.

In the fall of 2006, a small group of committed parents, educators, and community leaders formed an exploratory committee to officially start an education foundation for the Loomis basin area. After months of work, the Loomis Basin Education Foundation was officially incorporated on December 21, 2006.
The Loomis Basin Education Foundation (L.B.E.F.) improves the overall educational experience of students in the Loomis Union School District by supplementing academic and enrichment programs while supporting the district’s strategic plan. L.B.E.F. works to raise funds through community involvement and provide financial support to the Loomis Union School District.
