Description: Soroptimist International of Loomis Basin is one of many clubs in 120 countries throughout the world working to make a difference in the lives of women and girls. We work in tandem with our Region, Federation and International organizations. SI Loomis Basin was formed in 1974 and has continued to support our mission through the years. Our tradition of international service began in 1921 when a group of service minded women established Soroptimist International of Alameda County.nnChurch shelter JAN 2012 004Our club consists of women of all ages, both working and retired, brought together by our passion to make our local and global communities a better place.si Calling numbers at our annual Bingo Tostada and participating in community festivals allows us to provide funding for many local organizations and causes including the Senior LIFE Center, Loomis Christmas Basket, Placer Food Bank, International clean water programs, Women’s transition home as well as local awards and scholarships.nnSoroptimists participate in many local events. You will see us serving lunch to our area seniors at the Loomis L.I.F.E. Center several times a year, walking for the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life and providing refreshments at the Loomis Easter Egg Hunt. Just look for the ladies having all the fun and you’ll find us!

Description: In the fall of 2006, a small group of committed parents, educators, and community leaders formed an exploratory committee to officially start an education foundation for the Loomis basin area.  After months of work, the Loomis Basin Education Foundation was officially incorporated on December 21, 2006.nnThe Loomis Basin Education Foundation (L.B.E.F.) improves the overall educational experience of students in the Loomis Union School District by supplementing academic and enrichment programs while supporting the district’s strategic plan. L.B.E.F. works to raise funds through community involvement and provide financial support to the Loomis Union School District.

The purpose of the Guild is "to promote cooperation and interchange of ideas among those engaged or interested in quilting and fiber arts: to maintain high standards of design and technique; to instruct its members in methods and techniques to stimulate interest therein in the community and to hold meetings for the interchange of ideas and to inspire personal achievement."
