Established in 1989 as a public, non-profit organization, KidsFirst’s mission is to treat and prevent child abuse and neglect through Education, Advocacy, and Counseling, to empower and strengthen children and families. Our vision is that all children live in a safe, healthy, and nurturing home. We are dedicated to helping families by providing them with the tools they need to cope with difficult life circumstances before they become overwhelming. With counseling and family resource centers in Auburn and Roseville, our programs target the most vulnerable children, families and neighborhoods. We strengthen families by Prevention, Intervention and Changing Lives. Our programs include Education and Outreach, Information and Referral and Wellness.

Description: When a child is removed from their home due to abuse and neglect, they immediately need a safe and loving place to stay. Through a partnership with Placer County, Koinonia is providing emergency shelter foster homes to lower the traumatic impact during this time of transition. You can make a difference by becoming a professional foster parent and offer short-term emergency care to children in crisis.

Description: In the fall of 2006, a small group of committed parents, educators, and community leaders formed an exploratory committee to officially start an education foundation for the Loomis basin area.  After months of work, the Loomis Basin Education Foundation was officially incorporated on December 21, 2006.nnThe Loomis Basin Education Foundation (L.B.E.F.) improves the overall educational experience of students in the Loomis Union School District by supplementing academic and enrichment programs while supporting the district’s strategic plan. L.B.E.F. works to raise funds through community involvement and provide financial support to the Loomis Union School District.

Description: The Senior L.I.F.E. Center offers programs that exercise the mind, the body and the spirit. The Center’s activities of table games, crafts, companionship, exercise, and conversation provide an opportunity for active socialization, one of the most important factors in keeping seniors alert, independent and alive. Description: The mission of the Cowpoke Foundation is to preserve and promote the American cowboy heritage. Our premier event is the Cowpoke Fall Gathering where cowboy poetry, music and story telling reinforce the "cowboy way" at the heart of western traditions. Educational programs in local schools and youth performances at The Fall Gathering ensure that this heritage continues by exposing young people to these oral folk art forms.
