While we have been a strong supporter of the initial stay at home directives, we acknowledge the devastating effects that the directive is having on the overall health and well-being of our community and economy.
We would like to propose a responsible approach to re-opening non-essential businesses while upholding the physical distancing protocol established by Placer County. We realize that due to the very nature of some business operations, this may not be possible but many businesses should be open while maintaining a safe environment for staff, clients, and community.
We are asking our Placer County Board of Supervisors and Placer County Health Director to lift the current restrictions on non-essential businesses and Open South Placer Safely – with the following safe, logical and informed approached as outlined below:
• Apply Appendix A: Physical Distancing Protocol to all businesses, allowing current non-essential businesses to begin operating.
• Inform the community of expectations while patronizing open businesses. (Business should properly post protocols at the business entrance.)
• Amend the “Stay at Home Directive” to “Public Safety Directive” based on informed consent.
• Businesses must enforce the direction of Appendix A
Placer County residents have risen to the task of sheltering in place and applying safety protocol to our essential businesses. We are confident, we can apply the same due diligence to safely re-opening the remainder of our businesses.
