Pancake Breakfast
The Loomis Fire Fighters Association Annual Pancake Breakfast is from 6:30a.m.-11:00 a.m. at the Loomis Fire Station on Horseshoe Bar Rd. With a small donation enjoy your fill of pancakes, scrambled eggs, sausage, orange juice, and coffee.  Donations directly benefit the Fire Fighters Association.  For more information, call 916-652-6858.

Cooking Contest

Share your culinary creativity by entering the Loomis Eggplant Festival Cooking Contest!  The contest is open to all ages and is a fun way to show off your cooking skills.  Represent yourself, your business, organization or school, and wow the judges.  Each dish must use Eggplant as its main ingredient.  Entries must be delivered to the Cooking Contest booth no later than 10:15 a.m. on the day of the Festival along with the attached recipe.  Judging will begin at 10:30 a.m.
Judging criteria: Appearance – Taste – Originality in use of eggplant
Entries must serve 6 portions for three judges to taste.

Cooking Contest winners will be awarded:

  • 1st Place $100
  • 2nd Place $50
  • 3rd Place $25

Back to the Basics DIY Demos

Go Back to the Basics at the DIY Demonstration stage at the Loomis Eggplant Festival.  The featured DIY Demos add an element of the town’s history and its agricultural roots to the Eggplant Festival.  The DIY Fair is one way the Eggplant Festival is expanding and drawing more visitors by featuring demonstrations, vital information, and recommendations on products.

Produce & Eggplant Give Away
FREE Eggplant give away while supplies last, courtesy of the Loomis Raley’s Supermarket & High Hand Nursery.  Available at their Festival booths.

The Eggplant Festival is a blend of music and entertainment on three stages, gourmet and festival food, kid activities, arts and crafts, cooking contest and demonstrations, and over 100 booths by community organizations and businesses – all while celebrating the purple fruit and the town’s agricultural roots.

Delicious Food
Vendors will be offering special eggplant dishes and other tasty festival food.  This is the time to try some eggplant! Or enjoy other festival foods like a hot dog, steak sandwich, tamales, kettle corn, or shaved ice.

Local Beer and Wine
Enjoy local beer and wine from the Placer Wine and Grape Association and Loomis Basin Brewing Company as well as domestic beers and wines.  

Eggonopolis 500 Pinewood Derby
FREE event-hosted by Cub Scout Pack 815.

Speeding is OK when you enter the Eggonopolis 500 Pinewood Derby. Register a decorated eggplant driver from 11 a.m. to noon.  Categories include Kids (ages 0-13), adults, and business teams.

Scavenger Hunt
Search for special Eggplant items designated on the Scavenger Hunt Map. Begin by receiving a map from the Loomis Chamber Little House of Eggplant booth.  Complete and return the scavenger hunt map and earn a grab bag!

Adult & Kid Fun Zone
Have some fun at our Adult and Kid Fun Zone with bounce houses, water zorbing, games, and face painting.

Avenue of Antiques

See what the Town of Loomis has to offer for your Antique collection or items for your home.  Walk down the avenue of Antiques and pick up some one of a kind items.

Historical Vehicles

Check out the many historical and old-fashioned vehicles placed all around the Festival. Take pictures with them for a lasting memory.

See local artist work on display at the Avenue of Arts area.  Learn more about upcoming shows and local galleries for exquiste artworks.
